    Health coaching and resources for small groups and individuals through Miami Recreation

  • Coping Mindfully (Clinical Workshop)

    A 6-week, weekly workshop series through Student Counseling Service designed to help students foster mindfulness and coping strategies to combat stress, anxiety, and challenging life circumstances.

  • Dog Therapy

    Miami offers weekly dog therapy during the academic year. Interacting with animals is a proven way to decrease stress and feel a sense of connection and acceptance.

  • Faculty and Staff Affinity Groups

    Miami has several faculty and staff affinity groups to support our employees in building community and accessing resources. Each group has meetings, events, and other opportunities to engage throughout the year. All employees are welcome to participate in any of the faculty and staff associations available at Miami University.

  • Campus Assistance Program (CAP)

    CAP presentations to academic departments and departmental staff meetings provide opportunities for Miami’s faculty and staff to learn how we can assist students in emotional distress. Presentations are offered through Student Counseling Service and are typically are 60-90 minutes in length.

  • Suicide Prevention Resources

    Information on how to help a friend, notice signs of suicide ideation, and how to get involved in suicide prevention efforts on campus.

  • Understanding Self and Others (group therapy)

    This therapy group will provide a context for members to improve difficulties in their lives connected to developing and maintaining satisfying relationships with friends, family, partners, etc. A confidential environment will be created to help each member to learn how to trust, confront conflicts, understand one’s interactional style, and develop healthy relationships with others and…

  • Transformations (group therapy)

    This group is for students who are concerned about their use of different substances (alcohol, marijuana, etc.). The focus will be on identifying how substance use influences everyday life, how to reduce said use and how substance use may be interfering with personal  goals, relationships, etc.

  • Talking it out: Men’s Group (group therapy)

    This therapy group will provide a supportive space for male-identified students to connect, deepen self-awareness, and actively explore positive masculinity.
